Inserting systems
Envelope Inserting is the process of collecting and "stuffing" document sets
into an envelope.
Inserting is used to two specific applications, for either Transactional or
Direct Mail.
- Transactional Mail are inserting applications for preparing highly
individualized / personalized generally financial related documents for mail
distribution, The transactional applications can vary from low to high volume
and are generally controlled to tight and rigid specifications and the goal is
production not marketing. The contents insure opening not creative design.
- Direct Mail inserting is generally higher volume and requires more flexibility
in the technology. In the DM world mail is part of a creative
marketing;
envelopes, inserts can be any shape or size. DM is controlled by creative not
the efficiency of Transactional Mail.
As a general rule DM technology can operate effectively in a Transactional
environment, the opposite unfortunately is not always true.
If DM is the application look to DM designed equipment.
